What is Counselling?

Counselling is a professional relationship provided in a safe and confidential setting to clients who may feel in difficulty in certain areas of their lives e.g. relationship difficulties, depression, low self esteem or poor self confidence, sexual identity or sexual orientation concern. The therapeutic space and relationship can facilitate the exploration of thoughts and feelings with a professionally trained listener and practitioner.

The therapist is experienced in actively listening and helping you to gain an understanding of your situation so that change may be achieved in a non judgemental atmosphere.

The therapist of St Margarets Counselling has been trained at reputable training institutions. Their qualifications are recognised by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). The trainings and practice of the therapist conform to high standards of professional practice as required by their professional bodies.
